My name is Caitlin Haughney. I am an artist that focuses on the natural world. I do enjoy reading about nature and scientific processes that link everything together. This will be my first blog about myself and the continuing process of my art work. I do create a lot of pieces for I push myself to work on my drawings each day, smaller to larger works. Most of my drawing have my signature with the date. I like to look back as drawings I have worked on and watch a continuous process of my developed in form and my continuous shown style. This also is a development on the psychological process in my drawing that brings forward a concrete to abstract form each drawing takes shape in. I do pen and ink mostly with my drawing and ink pen black with watercolor with other drawings. This allows me to put together a drawing that is thought out with my ability to work with ideas in the moment. Then as I draw I take shape a piece that has a formulation and the ability to not edit or redraw it. It is a challenge for as I am drawing I give myself the ability to draw in the moment, also possible though breaks of planning but whatever is there when its done it will stay there. This allows me to see progress on my planning while allowing myself to have the ability to take an idea and shape it in the moment. I do also see my phycological process with in my self and ideas to build a part of myself in the process of the drawing. The photography I take is mostly at a park. I take a photo for what brings me to awe. Each picture shows the beauty of nature and the natural change of that nature. I take it as the vision of simply a walk in the park. In that moment I show the flowers that bloom and wilt, the birds that protect there nests, the insects that only appear a short time, and the reflective image of water that is vibrant, moving in moments. Taking these photos have allowed myself to see things in a different perspective as also seeing process take place I have learned about in a book. The most beautiful thing that I captured was the beginning of spring. Where each bud almost looking alien like, has a broken pod, hair fibers, and the beginning stages of a leaf showing. I will leave you with a photo of a bud, I’ve token many of these in different periods. I hope you enjoy and thank you for reading and looking at my page.
